Presenting the VCS Chair Reading for November 2013

LRB Vol. 35 No. 19

Here is Department Chair Tom Huhn’s announcement of the VCS Chair Reading for this month:

I’m happy to recommend Hal Foster’s review of Jacques Ranciere’s most recent book, “Aisthesis: Scenes for the Aesthetic Regime of Art” from the London Review of Books. Foster’s short review contains a very helpful synopsis of Ranciere’s most important books on aesthetics and the philosophy of art. So too does Foster place Ranciere amidst the pantheon, if you will, of French postwar theoreticians.
