Here’s a message from Department Chair Tom Huhn announcing the latest entry in the VCS Chair Readings series:
I’m very happy and a little embarrassed to be sending out this month an essay written by me on the topic of imitation. I can recommend it first of all as being rather short, only about 1000 words in length. Even better, it is accompanied by pictures, one painting by Mary Jo Vath, and another by Ed Ruscha. If you don’t enjoy the text, please do take pleasure in the reproductions of these two marvelous paintings. Finally, I do confess that the essay encapsulates many of the things about art and representation that I find myself thinking about again and again.
