2013 VCS alumna Luiza Cardenuto just forwarded me a call for artists to participate in Handy Minds, a craft-based show she’s curating at Michael Mut Gallery in New York next month. Here’s the information she sent:
Open Call for Artists
Handy Minds is a cultural extravaganza that will feature fine-art crafts and performances.
We are currently looking for artists who make craft and would like an opportunity to sell their creation, and performers looking to explore new ways to make an impact.
Artists will have the opportunity to show their work in any of the given weeks and performers can chose any of the opening or closing dates to perform.

Opening reception: Wed. August 7. 6pm – 10pm
Closing party: Sat. August 10. 8pm- 12am
Week 2D – Art as Everyday Wear: T-shirts, jewelry, hats, shoes and accessories.
Opening reception: Wed. August 14. 6pm – 10pm
Closing party: Sat. August 17. 8pm – 12am
Week 3D – The House That Art Built: Ceramic, magnets, furniture, boxes and home décor objects.
Opening reception: Wed. August 21. 6pm – 10pm
Closing party: Sat. August 24. 8pm – 12am
Week 4D – Art for the Soul: Candles, incense, soap, lotion, cosmetics and homemade condiments.
Opening reception: Wed. August 28. 6pm – 10pm
