The first issue of the new online magazine Psychology Tomorrow includes a profile of artist Radka Salcmannova, who was an exchange student in the Visual & Critical Studies program during the Fall 2011 semester. The exchange student program is a relatively new part of VCS, and Radka is the first of our exchange students I’ve written about here.
The Psychology Tomorrow piece contains a brief statement by Radka, images of several of her works, and a short bio. Radka is also working as the magazine’s curator, and the current issue’s arts section features her curatorial statement along with an image gallery and interview from artist and photographer Bill Hayward, a studio visit with painter Jim Peters, a brief interview with artist and photographer Andrew Brodhead, and a review of the work of performance artist Marc Bradley Johnson written by Psychology Tomorrow Managing Editor Matthew Ortiz.
Last year, Radka was also profiled in issue #16 of Fotograf Magazine. The complete profile is only available in the print edition, but this link includes an image from one of her projects, along with a brief description.
I’ll be back later this week with a post about a new VCS website, which is being launched just in time for the start of the 2012/2013 academic year.
